Cave Canem x Artists & Fleas: A two-day Pop Up in Williamsburg

Cave Canem x Artists & Fleas: A two-day Pop Up in Williamsburg

Last March, as New York slowly shook off winter and leaned into longer days, we spent a weekend tucked inside Artists & Fleas Williamsburg for a pop-up that.

It was one of those weekends where time moved differently. Conversations lingered. Dogs dozed under tables. Strangers stopped to chat, not just about products, but about their own pups, favorite walks, and the small rituals that shape daily life with a dog.

A Market Built on Creativity

For those unfamiliar, Artists & Fleas is a long-standing creative marketplace known for championing independent designers, vintage curators, and emerging brands. Located in the heart of Williamsburg, the space has become a weekend ritual for locals and visitors alike — a place to wander, discover, and support small businesses in an environment that feels both curated and lived-in.

That atmosphere made it a natural home for our pop-up. Surrounded by makers and artists, the focus wasn’t on urgency or spectacle, but on connection — between people, ideas, and the stories behind what we choose to bring into our lives.

Fur, Fun, and Forever Homes

This particular weekend wasn’t just about discovering new fashion and cool handmade goods — it was about giving pups a chance at a new chapter. Rain or Shine Rescue, a nonprofit dedicated to saving dogs (especially seniors and special-needs pups) and finding them loving families, brought adorable adoptable dogs to the market.

There’s something truly magical about seeing potential adopters bond with pups amid the creativity and buzz of the market — it was a perfect blend of community, compassion, and celebration

Months later, that March weekend still stands out. Not because of numbers or milestones, but because of how it felt: unhurried, human, and full of small, sincere interactions.

Pop-ups come and go, but some leave a lasting imprint. Looking back, it was a reminder of why we love in-person pop-ups — for the connections, the shared moments, and the quiet joy of seeing community come together around creativity and care.
